Refleksi Teologi terhadap Peran Pendeta dalam Politik Praktis

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to provide a theological understanding of the involvement of pastors in practical politics. The Church wisely takes a stance when it comes to politics so as not to embarrass God's name. The three tasks of serving fellow human beings are not to spread lies, hatred, but love to humiliate others like yourself. The political story of Adonijah and Solomon certainly cannot be used as a justification for political exclusion in order to seize power. The story of the violence that did occur colored the kingdom of Israel which was in the struggle for power from David. However, the story can be a lesson so that the practice of violence for the benefit of certain groups does not happen again. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a literature study approach or literature study. This study is intended to describe and describe the phenomena that occur in church services. The writing of this article uses a descriptive analytical approach, which will describe the various political dynamics of Christians and analyze them through the interpretation of the text of 1 Kings 1 - 2 as well as various theological views. The first step is to describe the relationship between the church and the political world. Furthermore, from the description of the situation, analysis is carried out through the narrative interpretation of the text of 1 Rajas 1 - 2. The results of the interpretation are then reflected into theological views through efforts to discuss the results of interpretations with various theological views.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman teologis tentang keterlibatan pendeta dalam politik praktis. Gereja dengan bijaksana mengambil sikap saat berpolitik agar tidak mempermalukan nama Tuhan. Tri tugas pelayana pada sesama manusia bukan menyebarkan kebohongan, kebencian, tetapi kasih mempelalukan orang lain seerti diri sendiri. Kisah politik Adonia dan Salomo tentu tidak bisa dijadikan pembenaran untuk eksklusi politik demi merebut kekuasaan. Kisah kekerasan yang memang terjadi mewarnai kerajaan Israel yang sedang dalam perebutan kekuasaan dari Daud. Namun, cerita tersebut bisa menjadi pelajaran agar praktik kekerasan untuk kepentingan kelompok tertentu tidak terulang kembali. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur atau studi kepustakaan. Penelitian ini ditujukkan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menggambarkan fenomena-fenomena yang terjadi dalam pelayanan gereja. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitis, yang akan menggambarkan berbagai dinamika politik umat Kristen dan menganalisisnya melalui interpretasi teks 1 Raja-raja 1 - 2 serta berbagai pandangan teologis. Langkah yang dilakukan adalah dengan terlebih dahulu mendeskripsikan hubungan antara gereja dengan dunia politik. Selanjutnya dari gambaran situasi tersebut dilakukan analisis melalui interpretasi naratif teks 1 Raja-raja 1 - 2. Hasil interpretasi tersebut kemudian direfleksikan ke dalam pandangan teologis melalui upaya pembahasan hasil interpretasi dengan berbagai pandangan teologis.
