Commentary: The challenge of quantifying susceptibility to drought-related crisis

Abstract

This paper is a response to a recent special issue of Regional Environmental Change, "Quantifying vulnerability to drought from different disciplinary perspectives" (vol. 8, number 4, 2008). In this paper, we examine some of the challenges facing efforts to understand vulnerability to drought through quantification as they are manifest in some of the articles in this special issue. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
