Abstract

The perspective development of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, which is rich in mineral resources is impossible without creation of the road network for communication between settlements, oil and gas fields and transport hubs. Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District is characterized by complex engineering-geological conditions where different geological and geocryological phenomena and processes are being developed causing specific approaches to design and construction of engineering structures to be used. In this regard, an urgent task is to develop constructional solutions making it possible to stabilize the road lower structure and the roadbed, prolong periods between repairs on individual sections and improve operational reliability of roads in general. The paper describes the proposed and implemented constructional and technological solutions to stabilize the road lower structure and the roadbed constructed on permafrost soils. The results of two-year geotechnical monitoring of the road sections with implemented solutions are given.
