Abstract

The appreciation of art works can regulate the psychological activities and induce emotional resonance. This paper explores the influence of drama and film appreciation on mental health education in colleges. First, the problems with mental health of college students were summarized, and the forms of art appreciation among college students were discussed. Then, a questionnaire survey was conducted among grade 2 students of a university, and the collected data were analyzed to explore the close relationship between art appreciation and the mental health of college students. The results show that the sentiment cultivation, learning pressure alleviation, anxiety reduction, spiritual enrichment, knowledge expansion, entertainment and other effects were recognized by 39%, 73%, 67%, 45%,48%, 56% and 13% of all respondents, respectively, indicating the positive significance of drama and film appreciation on the mental health of college students. The research results provide a new idea for mental health education in colleges.
