Abstract
A host list of chewing lice (Mallophaga) from birds in Florida is presented. This includes lice from 171 of the 446 native birds that occur in the state and represents information on 17 orders and 44 families of birds. Nothing is known for 3 orders and 14 families. Records on the domestic chicken, the Northern Jacana (an introduced exotic), and the Whooping Crane (captive-reared and subsequently released into Florida) are given also for comparative purposes.
