Abstract

This paper deals with the analytical computation of the magnetic field of a cylindrical permanent magnet linear generator. It offers an alternative solution to the magnetic field problem. A new approach to solve Poisson equation using Struve function is introduced and it offers a simple but accurate analytical estimation to the calculation of the open circuit flux density and induced voltage. The finite element analysis simulation is performed to validate the analytical calculation. © 2007 Science Publications.
