Abstract

Method: qualitative study, conducted between September and October 2012 in an University Hospital, through semi-structured interviews with 18 nursing staff. Data were analyzed using the Operation Mode, the following steps: Pre-analysis, material exploration, processing and interpretation of results. Results: the categories found, most cited during the interviews were: definitions of risk factors, drug therapy, patient identification and barrier methods. Conclusion: it is evident that members of the nursing team converge in their perceptions, expressing everyday situations as risk factors, and possible methods of citing barriers as, for example, improve the patient’s identification.
