Abstract
The purpose of this study was to provide evidence for development of policies and programmes to reduce case-fatality rate and other complications from road traffic accidents in Kenya. The study employed the mixed method approach and cross-sectional study design. Universal sampling was applied for all the consecutive First Responders who assisted casualties attended in hospitals in Makueni. Data was collected from 427 First Responders and 474 casualties.
