Abstract

Environmental and sustainability concerns have sparked important developments in green composites, including the creation of composites reinforced with natural fibers. Because NFRCs are lightweight, they can be used in industries including construction, automotive, and aerospace that demand great strength and remarkable fatigue resistance. A variety of sources, including microbes, minerals, plants, and animals, can create NFs. Plant fibers, which contain cellulose, a semi-crystalline polymer essential to the mechanical strength and structure of plant cell walls, are the most common natural fiber source on Earth. Plant stems with strong tensile strength, thermal stability, and adaptability include flax, hemp, and jute. Plant fibers are prized for their sustainability, biodegradability, and contribution to the creation of environmentally benign materials in addition to their mechanical qualities. This study concentrates on the extraction of natural jute fiber, the several steps required to make the fibers, and the smooth extraction of microfibrils. A detailed review of the mechanical, thermal, and other properties of jute fibers will be conducted. Finally, an analysis and conclusion will be drawn about their usage in conjunction with thermoset resins for suitable applications.
