Historia del tiempo presente, estudios sobre memoria e historia conceptual.

Abstract

Este texto trata de asentar sobre bases más firmes la historia del tiempo presente, superando las limitaciones epistemológicas, metodológicas y teóricas que la acompañan desde su nacimiento, a través de la combinación de aportes procedentes de los estudios sobre memoria y la historia de los conceptos. Para ello comienza señalando las analogías y convergencias entre historia del tiempo presente y memoria, así como sus debilidades comunes, que tienen que ver con su condición de conocimiento situado desde el cual no es posible ofrecer relatos distanciados respecto del lenguaje instituido en el presente. A continuación, señala el aporte crucial que la historia de los conceptos proporciona a la hora de distinguir entre contextos dentro del tiempo presente, ofreciendo una redefinición de la categoría de acontecimiento centrada en cuestiones de significado y discurso. Para identificar las condiciones de posibilidad de un discurso distanciado, el texto reflexiona acerca del trauma cuando este es enunciado públicamente en forma de un discurso denunciador capaz de contener nuevas semánticas que fuerzan y permiten a elaborar nuevos discursos y relatos distanciados sobre el pasado presente. A modo de ejemplificación de la propuesta, escoge el movimiento por la recuperación de la memoria en España en el paso del siglo XX al XXI.This text tries to establish the history of the present time on firmer foundations, overcoming the epistemological, methodological and theoretical limitations that have accompanied it since its birth, through the combination of contributions from memory studies and the history of concepts. To do this, it begins by pointing out the analogies and convergences between history of present times and memory, as well as their common weaknesses, which have to do with their condition of situated knowledge unable to offer accounts that are distanced from the language instituted in the present. It then points out the crucial contribution that the history of concepts provides in distinguishing between contexts within the present time, offering a redefinition of the category of event focused on questions of meaning and discourse. In identifying the conditions of possibility of a distanced discourse, the text reflects on trauma when it is publicly stated in the form of a denunciation that may contain new semantics which force and at the same time allow the development of new discourses and distanced accounts of the present past. As an example of the proposal, the text chooses the movement for the recovery of memory in Spain in the transition from the 20th to the 21st century.
