Abstract
The emergence of a drive to reduce restrictive interventions hasbeen accompanied particularly in the UK by a debate focussingon restraint positions. Any restraint intervention delivered poorlycan potentially lead to serious negative outcomes. Moreresearch is required to reliably state the risk attached to a particularposition in a particular clinical circumstance.
