Abstract

The Canadian Task Force on the Periodic Health Examination created a hierarchy of evidence that has been used for the past 18 y to evaluate the scientific evidence for the against the preventability of each condition reviewed. The methodology developed by the task force may be applicable to study of the preventive aspects of dietary sodium and health. This paper describes the history and modus operandi of the task force.
