Abstract
A transect of five radiocarbon-dated pollen diagrams from lake sediments has been made along the 76th meridian, between latitudes 53 and 55oN east of the James Bay lowlands in Quebec. The beginning of organic sedimentation is roughly synchronous in four sites, around 6500yr BP. The maximum of forest density would span the period between 6000 and 2700yr BP.-from English summary
