Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of expressive speech acts and the form of commissive speech acts in the presidential candidate first debate of the Republic of Indonesia 2024 on youtube account tv one news. This research is qualitative research, the method used in this research is descriptive. The data source in this research was video, in the video channel youtube account tv one news about the presidential candidate first debate of the Republic of Indonesia 2024 in the form of speech acts expressed by presidential candidates downloaded via youtube. The data obtained in the form of expressive speech acts and commissive speech acts in the first debate of the presidential candidate of the Republic of Indonesia 2024 on the youtube account of tv one news. Data collection techniques by listening, recording, documentation with data analysis in the form of data reduction,data display, conclusion drawing or verification. Data validity checking, source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. The findings of this study concluded that the form of expressive speech acts consists of 8 utterances, namely thank you, apologize, get angry, complain, criticize, praise, insinuate, congratulate. From 8 forms of expressive speech acts, 56 utterances of expressive speech acts were found. The form of commissive speech acts consists of 5 utterances, namely promising, intending, vowing, offering, and swearing. Of the 5 forms of commissive speech acts, 26 utterances of commissive speech acts were found in the presidential candidate debate of the Republic of Indonesia 2024 on the tv one news youtube account.
