Abstract

Resumen: Este artículo tiene por objetivo el fenómeno del ciberbullying, como una nueva for-ma de acoso digital entre adolescentes a través de las nuevas tecnologías. Sus características distintivas, sus semejanzas con otras formas de violencia entre iguales más tradicionales, su pre-valencia en España, y cómo las distintas investigaciones nacionales e internacionales ayudan a analizar los riesgos reales de un uso inadecuado de Internet por parte de los menores. Finalmente se aborda la figura del trabajador/a social y las distintas estrategias de intervención que adopta dentro de la intervención social con adolescentes víctimas de acoso digital. Abstrac: This paper discusses the phenomenon of cyberbullying, a new form of harassment among adolescents that uses the new information technologies. Its distinctive characteristics are discussed, along with its similarities with more traditional forms of violence among peers, its prevalence in Spain and how different studies in Spain and other parts of the world help analyse the real risks of improper Internet use by young people. Finally, the paper looks at the figure of the social worker and the different intervention strategies that can be adopted as part of social intervention with adolescent victims of cyberbullying.
