Abstract

A pushpull porphyrin dimer with multiple electrondonating groups has been synthesized as a sensitizer with an excellent light-harvesting ability in the near-infrared region for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The DSSC based on the sensitizer exhibited the photocurrent generation exceeding a wavelength of 900 nm, together with a power conversion efficiency of 6.21% under AM 1.5 condition.
