Abstract

Contains a brief summary of, and commentary on, the various types of framboidal and framboid-like aggregates of pyrite described in the literature. It is argued that the early framboidal pyrite is most likely formed during diagenesis. Ascribes the formation of the columnar aggregates of pyrite and their contained framboids to a genuine hydrothermal event spatially related to the emplacement of a mineralized intrusive and extrusive suite of igneous rocks. -from Authors
