Abstract

A marked improvement in prognosis of gestational trophoblastic disease has occurred during the past 20 years. Currently, complete and sustained remission is reported in more than 90% of patients even when the disease is metastatic. Factors considered to be important in this achievement are discussed, particularly the value of certain prognostic factors as a guide to planning treatment. Copyright © 1981 American Cancer Society
