Sinopse do gênero Rhynchospora (Cyperaceae) nas restingas do Estado do Pará, Brasil

Abstract

This study aimed to contribute to our knowledge of the taxonomy of Rhynchospora species found on the sandy coastal plains of Pará state, Brazil. We analyzed collections from the herbaria MG, IAN and HBRA, as well as INPA, HURB, NY and UEC online. The species were identified based on specialized literature and by consulting the opera principia and typi available online. We found 10 species of Rhynchospora for the sandy coast of Pará: R. barbata, R. cephalotes, R. filiformis, R. hirsuta, R. holoschoenoides, R. nervosa, R. puber, R. riparia, R. rugosa and R. spruceana. An identification key, diagnostic characters, geographic distribution, illustrations and comments on the taxonomy of each species are presented. Furthermore, we designate neotypi for R. nervosa and R. riparia, and a lectotypus for R. puber.
