Abstract
Six quarry-floor buckles in a west-end Ottawa bedrock quarry are described and a semi-quantitative estimate of the stress field is inferred from them. The maximum principal stress component is horizontal with an azimuth that is constrained to the NE-SW quadrants and has an upper limit that is of the order of a few tens of megapascals. -Author Div of Seismology & Geomagnetism, Earth Phys Branch, Ottawa, Ontaria, K1A 0Y3, Canada.
