Abstract

This study to describe : 1) The principal's briefing of Arabic teacher, 2) Principal's supervision of Arabic teacher performance, 3) Principal's assessment of Arabic teacher performance in Islamic Junior High School (MTs) of Muhammadiyah Karya Bhakti Riau. This research used a descriptif qualitative method. The data collection techniques that researchers used were participant observation, in-depth interviews and school documentation. Data is analyzed with interactive data analysis techniques that cover three activities related to each other, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed: 1) The principal gave directions in the academic field, such as the stage of learning planning and also implementation. In addition to giving directions in the academic field, the principal also gives direction in the field of administration. 2) The principal supervises with direct, conditional and indirect class visits while the learning process is in progress. 3) The principal conducts an assessment and makes personal notes. Reprimand the teacher directly when it is not right in carrying out his duties.
