Abstract
Effect of gamma radiation on tensile behavior of the Hemp and Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Polymer Composite is studied in this study. The prepared laminates are cured naturally. The composite laminates are treated with the Gamma radiations for 20mins with the dosages varying from 1KGy-25KGy. The mechanical testing is performed on the Universal Testing Machine. Without irradiations at the room temperature of 28°C, the tensile strength value is 45.927?MPa. The maximum tensile strength obtained is 81.132?MPa when the Composite specimen is cured by Gamma radiation of 10KGy dosage for 20mins. The tensile strength of the composite is increased by 1.76 times.
