Potensi Penerapan Teknologi Digital Twin pada Industri Pertanian dan Pangan di Indonesia: Sebuah Tinjauan Literatur

Abstract

Increasingly fierce competition and increasing consumer needs require the agriculture and food industry to move efficiently, quickly, and precisely. In order to meet these needs, the ability to forecast accurately and minimise errors is something that is needed by the agricultural and food industry in Indonesia. Digital twins are digital replicas of real-world entities that generate actual information. The purpose of this literature review is to provide an overview the current status of digital twin development and its potential applications in the Indonesian agricultural and food industries. The methodology used in this research is literature review through the Web of Science, Sciencedirect, and Google Scholar scientific databases with the keywords digital twin and agriculture. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were used to eliminate unrelated sources so that references were obtained according to needs and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that the digital twin is a potential technology when applied to the agriculture and food industry because digital twin creates a multiplier effect by creating integrated agricultural management starting from pre-harvest, harvest, post-harvest. But unfortunately, until now, there has been no agricultural industry that has implemented a digital twin in its processes in Indonesia. This is because there are challenges including 1) availability of infrastructure, 2) high investment costs, 3) acceptance of agricultural industry players, 4) data quality, and 5) availability of experts. The digital twin has great potential to improve the quality and productivity of Indonesian agriculture, so the penta helix collaboration between the government, academia, business, community, and media is needed.
