Severe asthma after inadvertent ingestion of oxprenolol

Abstract

The authors report a case in which the accidental ingestion of 80 mg of oxprenolol resulted in a respiratory-cardiac arrest. The report draws attention to the dangers of β blockers in asthmatics, and to the rapidity with which serious sequaelae may follow their administration.
