Abstract
The main results that emerge from our drilling in the Shikoku Basin deal with the age of the acoustic basement and the mineralogy and petrology of the oceanic crust there. Data demonstrate that this basin, like many back-arc basins of the W.Pacific, shows complex magnetic-anomaly patterns, topography and geology. The geology and evolution of the Daito Ridge and Basin Province is also summarised.- after Authors 1) Dept.
