Abstract

This paper studies the dynamic characteristics of the terminal control area described by the max-plus model, with emphasis on the influence of the system parameters on the system efficiency. The main contribution of this paper is to develop a method for analyzing and comparing possible configurations of terminal control area in an efficient manner, such as the effects of changing buffers sizes on the system performance. In addition, Eigen-model of the system model is also presented for analyzing the periodicity behavior of terminal control area. An example is given to illustrate the model performance and the developed method can provide effective support for decision making in possible reconfiguration improvements.
