Abstract

Dynamics of a high-speed train passing a windbreak in crosswind were numerically simulated on the basis of the train aerodynamics and train dynamics. Taking the high-speed train passing a kind of windbreak at 350 km/h for example, the aerodynamic forces and dynamics responses of the high-speed train passing the windbreak were analyzed. When the high-speed train entered the windbreak and left the region of windbreak, the safety and comfort indexes became obviously worse. When the velocity of crosswind was 9.56 m/s, the maximum of the train lateral acceleration reached 2.5 m/s2; When the velocity of crosswind was 15.0 m/s, the derailment of train exceeded 0.7 and the wheel unloading exceeded 0.8. At last, a kind of windbreak with buffer equipment was advanced, which improved safety and comfort effectively when the high-speed train passed the windbreak.
