Abstract

Phylogeography is defined as the study of principles and processes governing the geographical distribution of genealogical lineages. In this manuscript, we briefly review the history and purview of phylogeography, and also overlook the current state of the art of phylogeography in Brazil, highlighting understudied areas and possible challenges.
