Abstract
Iconographic documents are a little used source for the recovery of the social and educational memory. This paper uses the trainee's reports of the first Spanish pedagogues instructed in the Francós regime, which describe in a narrative way the school context and the situation of educational institutions of a specific place in Spanish geography. To this goal, 45 reports have been selected that reproduce a total of 475 images in the form of postcards, photographs and clippings, studied through an analysis of their content and grouped under two research focuses: society and education in the postwar period. The results show the emphasis of the students to highlight, from the images of their works, the historical heritage of the studied context, the customs and popular traditions, as well as the reflection of post-war education based on the study of the school reality. Gender, national identity and the Catholic religion are the themes that mark the narrations.
