Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the nature of the challenges facing students with disabilities in distance learning at Jordanian public universities, and strategies to overcome them according to variables of gender, educational level, or type of disability. Participants of (216) male and female students with hearing, visual or physical disabilities responded to a questionnier that was developed for that porpus. The results of the study showed that the most obvious challenge was related to the ongoing teaching and learning processes; all challenges appeared to be associated with type of students' disability; students' strategies to overcome the accounted challenges were not associated with variables of gender, academic level and type of disability . The study concludes with a discussion of some strategies that participant students used to overcome the challenges of distance learning.
