Abstract

This papel is a discussion of the design and integration of the concept of ecodesign in sustainable development parameters. Discusses the subject from a historica perspective on the origin of the term design, concepts and principles and their evolution to the modern concept of ecodesign, seeking the most relevant references on the subject, underin a discussion that reaches the most meaningful about the inclusion of everyday design practice in contemporany society. Discusses the need of the materials return to production cycles in a closed loop chain, because the vast majority of raw materials consist of non renewable resources. For this purpose,the concepts of design and ecodesign has a lot to help chance the paradigms in search of broad parameters holistic sustainability.
