Abstract

The city phenomenon’s physical, functional, cognitive, affective, and social characteristics are of interest to environmental psychology through the study of the transactions between the sociophysical environment and human behavior. This psychological approach to the impact of urban design on socio-affective, cultural and physical, and psychological health structures strengthens the academic and applied panorama of contemporary urbanism, by reflecting on epistemological and theoretical-methodological proposals that analyze the psychological and emotional implications attached to the processes, of the city design. In this way, the teaching of urban planning benefits from transdisciplinary by including cognitive-behavioral and emotional elements, in the analysis and resolution of socio-spatial and psycho-environmental conflicts to contribute to a better quality of urban life, through urban design proposals according to the real world.
