Abstract
The Giwang Sumsel application was launched in 2021 by the South Sumatra Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism to provide information and services to the community and assist visitors to South Sumatra. By 2023, the app had been downloaded 757 times in Indonesia. A user satisfaction survey involving 100 respondents revealed several issues, such as the absence of features for food, hotel, or tourism ticket bookings, as well as a lack of account registration features. To address these issues, UI/UX redesign research was conducted using the design thinking method, comprising 5 stages: empathize, define, imagine, prototype, and test. The research resulted in a prototype and usability testing using maze design, with a click error rate below 50%, which is 28%, and over 50% of respondents completing scenarios correctly, which is 92.3%. Additionally, testing using the System Usability Scale yielded a score of 80.225, categorizing it as acceptable for user utilization.
