Abstract
Non-invasive methods of estimating body composition in vivo are discussed. Methods based on chemical composition include isotope water dilution, 40 potassium counting, neutron-activation analysis (NAA), estimation of lipid by difference, direct estimation of body lipid and NAA for direct estimation of body lipid and energy. Methods of estimating tissue and organ volumes include magnetic resonance imaging.
