Abstract

Implications • The cell-cultured animal industry is marketing consumer available products in 1 to 5 yr, and time to market is dependent on development of technologies, regulatory approval, and product structure (intact vs. non-intact). • Initial products will be higher priced than traditional products and most likely sold in upscale markets. • By 2050, cell-cultured companies anticipate localized production facilities throughout the world producing cell-based meat, poultry, and seafood products to assist in supplying the demand for protein.
