Abstract
This research project was carried out in response to the insufficient digital skills and low performance in English as a foreign language among high school students from a public school in Bucaramanga, Colombia. This action-research aimed to analyze high school students’ perception about how creating virtual learning objects in the classroom helped them develop skills in information and communication technologies while enhancing their English language learning. Data were collected through direct observation and semi-structured interviews. The analysis of the data confirmed that the creation of virtual learning objects helps students to develop skills in information and communication technologies and fosters English language acquisition. Findings suggest the need to redesign curricula mediated by technology and to design ongoing teacher training to encourage the use of these objects
