Content dimensions of environmental education: A theoretical discussion

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the key content dimensions of environmental education from the contribution of the authors. The methodological approach used was of a theoretical-explanatory type. The theoretical findings reveal points of discussion to open the debate such as: 1) The issue of actors in environmental education (communities, Afro-descendants, indigenous people) 2) the natural-environment dilemma and 3) strategies for the recovery and reuse of solid waste. It is concluded that the existence of a critical perspective of South American authors that makes innovative contributions to the conception of environmental education maintaining an interdisciplinary and complex vision of the processes.
