Abstract
Throughout the production of plastic articles, imperfections in the quality and delivery of the finished product have been detected, causing consumers to return the product, which has had an impact on losses for the companies dedicated to this field. For this reason, companies have had to adopt new methodologies and resources to provide products with processes that generate value for the customer, with the objective of compiling and adapting strategies that allow them to minimize losses and increase productivity. In order to know what is the impact produced to these companies, a systematic review of the scientific literature is necessary. The objective was to carry out a systematic review of the scientific literature on plastic manufacturing companies in Latin America and how various factors affect their productive impact. The databases used were EBSCO, SCIELO and PROQUEST, in the last 10 years, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. After screening, 42 articles were identified that met the inclusion requirements. As conclusions, the studies show that the productive impact is positively manifested in these companies using methods applied to engineering such as Lean Manufacturing, SMED, application of the 5S methodology, development of the circular economy, among others.
