Abstract

A comprehensive parametric analysis on the performance of an alkaline cell is established by deriving a rigorous sensitivity model from the differential algebraic equation form of the cell model. By calculating the sensitivity coefficients of the system variables in terms of physical and operational parameters, and initial conditions, impact of these variables, parameters, and initial conditions on the cell performance are quantitatively identified during the lifetime of the cell discharge. © 1999 The Electrochemical Society.
