Sobre as teorias do imperialismo contemporâneo: uma leitura crítica

Abstract

A teoria marxista, através do imperialismo, tem um instrumento de caracterização e interpretação do capitalismo contemporâneo. Atualmente, diversas vertentes do campo marxista (e que se assumem enquanto tal) utilizam o imperialismo em suas análises, seja através do termo neoimperialismo, novo imperialismo, imperialismo tardio, Império, globalização, neoliberalismo, ou, simplesmente, imperialismo. Desta forma, o objetivo deste artigo é analisar as interpretações marxistas do imperialismo contemporâneo e responder à questão: existe uma teoria contemporânea do imperialismo?Marxist theory, through imperialism, has an analytical framework for the interpretation of contemporary capitalism. Currently, various aspects of the Marxist camp (and those who identify themselves as such) use imperialism in their analysis, either through the term neo-imperialism, new-imperialism, late imperialism, Empire, globalization, neoliberalism, or simply imperialism. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyze the Marxist interpretations of contemporary imperialism and answer the question: is there one contemporary theory of imperialism?
