Abstract

The purpose of this article is to attempt an indication of the key priorities in the development of court administration managers' professional competences in the face of strategy-driven modernisation, legal conditions, current problems and the employees' attitude towards changes. The article tries to present the directions for changes in court administration and shows the key results of the conducted research concerning the sources of resistance towards changes among the employees of this group of organisations. It enables to suggest priorities in the development of managerial competence in the Polish judiciary. It is assumed, however, that one of the major challenges is to consider the needs and hardships of particular courts and not of the whole system of justice.
