Abstract

The contribution of Or and Tuller [2002] in emphasizing the insufficiency of SMC determination techniques that rely on pressure systems to simulate the actual drainage mechanism of porous media is acknowledged and supported. We agree with the main ideas and conclusions of the technical note, although the proposed mechanisms for cavitation and drainage of a porous medium deserve more thought.
