Abstract

With the rapid development of information technology, smart campuses have become an important trend in the modernization of higher education. Digital Twin technology, as an innovative virtual modeling and data management tool, is playing an increasingly important role in the development of smart campuses. This paper explores the synergistic application of Digital Twin technology with the Internet of Things (IoT), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in university settings. We propose an integrated Digital Twin platform designed to create detailed virtual models of campus environments, enabling comprehensive monitoring and management. A study of a service application case at a certain university illustrates the practical effectiveness of Digital Twin technology in enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing resource allocation, and improving campus safety and teaching quality. The findings demonstrate that Digital Twin technology significantly boosts institutional management efficiency and enriches student interaction, offering a novel management tool for higher education institutions.
