Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' critical thinking in collaborative learning of Transformer topic through lesson study activities. The lesson study activity is teacher and students' activity to improve learning quality by focusing on how students learn, think and interact. The method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative with case study approach. The subjects of this study were ninth grade students of Darmaraja Junior High School with Transformer as the topic. The learning objective is to explain the working principle of transformer using collaborative learning. The students' critical thinking during the learning process was analyzed from learning video and transcript was named Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA). The results of this study indicated that collaborative learning implemented through lesson study activities can improve students' critical thinking. In addition, from reflection activity in lesson study, teacher can redesign the learning to improve its quality.
