De la ciudad industrial a la ciudad lúdica. Algunas reflexiones en torno a Valencia, Palermo y Génova (1960-2000)

ONLINE ONLY. 'Los estudios comparativos son una herramienta importante para entender la evolucion plural de los espacios urbanos en la Europa contemporanea. En el siguiente articulo se presenta un estudio comparado de tres realidades urbanas que, con contextos historicos diferentes, sufrieron una modificacion de su espacio urbano a partir de la morfologia industrial para dar lugar a una ciudad orientada eminentemente a lo ludico. Esta realidad de transformacion, comun en el traspaso hacia una economia postindustrial, fue impulsada a raiz del aprovechamiento de un gran evento. Por tanto, las preguntas centrales del trabajo seran responder cuando y como Palermo, Valencia y Genova supieron aprovechar esta oportunidad para cambiar su imagen en el siglo XXI. El analisis de tres realidades mediterraneas nos permite comprender la evolucion plural del espacio urbano y la ciudad europea actual.' 'Comparative studies are an important tool to understand the pluralistic evolution of urban spaces in the contemporary Europe. In the following paper we present a comparative study of three Mediterranean cities: Genoa, Palermo and Valencia. Although through different historical paths, they all more or less modified their appearances, structures and functions from 'industrial' to 'ludic' ones. This transformation, common in the transition to a post-industrial economy, has generally been driven by the availment of a great event: the core questions of this work will try to answer when and how Genoa, Palermo and Valencia could use this opportunity to change their image in the XXI century. This analysis of three Mediterranean realities enables us to understand the pluralistic evolution of urban space and the current European city.'
