Abstract

Survival of zebrafish Danio rerio embryos subjected to yolk redistribution during early development (cleavage to segmentation) was found to be dependent on the stage of manipulation and the quantity of redistributed yolk. The findings point to the presence and importance of yolk intrinsic organization during early development. © 2007 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
