Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how webinars are utilized by looking at the characteristics possessed by Online media as learning media in general which in their activities are able to develop professional and pedagogic competence of lecturers, especially in the use of information and communication technology. This research was conducted at the Nusantara Muslim University Al-Washliyah Medan. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive survey method with data acquisition through filling out questionnaires on the Google form. The subjects in this study were 100 lecturers at the Nusantara Muslim University Al-Washliyah with the criteria of certified and uncertified lecturers. In this quantitative descriptive study, data is presented in the form of percentage categories for answering questions. The results showed that the interactivity factor of the characteristics of Online media as indicated by the mastery of the features of the webinar application has not been widely used by lecturers, on the other hand the independence factor which is manifested by readiness to take part in webinars and the process of finding additional material as well as the ability to solve solutions in the webinar has been very high. Accessibility is the main obstacle in accessing the internet while other factors in the form of enrichment or technical capabilities and the availability of computer equipment are not a problem for lecturers.
