Abstract
ABSTRAK Tanah gambut merupakan tanah oraganik yang terbentuk dari pelapukan tumbuh-tumbuhan dengan usia sekitar 18.000 tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sifat fisik tanah gambut, menentukan klasifikasi tanah gambut dan menentukan koefisiean konsolidasi dan indeks pemampatan tanah gambut. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui pengujian konsolidasi dengan memberikan beban secara langsung serta memberikan beban secara bertahap.Sampel tanah gambut diambil di desa Pekan Labuhan, kec. Medan labuhan, kota Medan Sumatera Utara. Terletak dekat rel kereta api, di samping PT. Pertamina, dekat pelabuhan Belawan dan tidak jauh dari stasiun PT.KAI lama belawan.Tanah gambut didesa pekan labuhan memiliki kadar air (w) yaitu 125%,Berat Spesifik (GS) 1.695, .Adapun berbandingan angka Pori (e) di setiap kadar kapur antar lain yaitu, kadar kapur 0 % =12.53, kadar kapur 2% = 7.04, kadar kapur 5%= 6.25, kadar kapur 8 % = 5.88, kadar kapur 10% = 5,52 .Adapun Koefisien konsolidasi (CV) yaitu sampel kadar kapur 0% =1,830, kadar kapur 2% =1.296, kadar kapur 5% =1.049, kadar kapur 8% = 0,698, kadar kapur 10% = 0.395. kecepatan penurunan terjadi akibat besar nya pembebanan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kadar kapur sangat perpengaruh terhadap Stabilitas Tanah gambut Kata Kunci : Stabilitas, Tanah Gambut, Konsolidasi ABSTRACT Peat soil is organic soil formed from weathering of plants with an age of around 18,000 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of peat soil, determine the classification of peat soil and determine the coefficient of consolidation and compression index of peat soil. This research was carried out through consolidation testing by applying the load directly and gradually applying the load. Peat soil samples were taken in Pekan Labuhan village, kec. Medan port, Medan city, North Sumatra. Located near the railroad tracks, next to PT. Pertamina, near the port of Belawan and not far from the old PT.KAI Belawan station. The peatsoil in the village of Pekanbaru has a water content (w) of 125%, Specific Weight (GS) 1,695, .As for the ratio of Pores (e) in each lime content
