Abstract
The psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory – Revised (OCI-R; Foa et al., 2002) were examined in two non-clinical samples (N=509). The original six related factors structure was confirmed by means of confirmatory factor analysis, with results also showing structural gender invariance of the OCI-R. The results for the full scale and the six subscales revealed good internal consistency, convergent and divergent validity, and test-retest reliability after an interval of one month. It is concluded that the Portuguese version of OCI-R retains the good psychometric properties of the original version and is an adequate instrument to evaluate obsessive-compulsive symptoms in non-clinical samples.
