Abstract

Doi: 10.5902/2179769211124 Aim: characterize patients with coronary artery disease who underwent cardiac catheterization in the catheterization of a Public and General Hospital in Rio Grande do Sul, identify and profile your lifestyle. Method: this study is a fieldwork and quantitative approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic, clinical and the Health Promoting Lifestyle Instrument. Results: the study included 62 patients with mean age of 59 years, whites (88.28%), female (57.38%), married (70.49%), pensioners (88.28%) and diagnosed with angina (57.38%). Patients undergoing cardiac catheterization showed a better profile of lifestyle in the field selfrealization (3.54) and worst profile in the field exercise (1.37). Conclusion: it was noted the need for planning of health education aimed at reassessing the lifestyle of this population in order to reduce the impact of cardiovascular disease and better qualiade of these individuals.
